Preparation of Türkiye’s First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) Project Started

The “Preparation of Türkiye’s First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1)” project is a technical expertise service provided by the Resource, Environment, and Climate Association (REC) to the Directorate of Climate Change under the is part of the “Enabling the Republic of Türkiye to Prepare Its First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) and the Joint Ninth National Communication and Second Biennial Transparency Report (NC9/BTR2) to the UNFCCC” initiative. This initiative is supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. The final beneficiary of the project is the Directorate of Climate Change under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye. REC actively participates to the project providing technical support for the preparation of the BTR. The project commenced in 2024 and is scheduled to conclude in 2027.

The primary objective of the project is to support the Republic of Türkiye in fulfilling its national reporting obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement. This involves assisting in the preparation and submission of the First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1), as well as the Joint Ninth National Communication (NC9) and the Second Biennial Transparency Report (BTR2).
